Bugbear and THQ Nordic have set a PC early access release date for the upcoming racing and demolition derby sequel, Wreckfest 2. This highly anticipated game is a follow-up to the original, which provided players with an incredibly destructible and eccentric racer packed with various destructive events and tracks. Gamers can now look forward to experiencing the next chapter of Wreckfest as it makes its debut on Steam in March 2025.
This week, Bugbear and THQ Nordic unveiled the specifics of when Wreckfest 2’s early access release on PC will take place, as shown in a fresh trailer. The trailer reveals that the early access phase for Wreckfest 2 on Steam will commence on March 20, 2025. Notably, the initial Wreckfest was distributed on Xbox, PlayStation, and even Nintendo Switch; however, the PC version is given top priority due to its substantial fanbase and lively modding community. At present, details regarding console releases have been postponed as Bugbear focuses on resolving any issues and bugs on the PC platform first, aiming for a Version 1.0 that is as stable as possible before moving forward with console versions.
In the upcoming version of Wreckfest, expect an abundance of heart-stopping collisions that tear through metal and intense racing action that leaves a mark on your paint job – more than you’ve ever seen before!
