Actress Dafne Keen, who recently attended the Saturn Awards in Los Angeles, spoke with The Direct about her potential future as X-23. Following her impressive appearances alongside Wesley Snipes’ Blade, Channing Tatum’s Gambit, and Jennifer Garner’s Elektra in Deadpool & Wolverine, fans have been eagerly anticipating Keen’s return as Laura/X-23. When asked about a potential comeback of X-23 within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the actress expressed her hope for a “fun team-up” and enjoys the idea of smaller, more intimate stories featuring Laura as well.
Keen expressed her affection for the intense action scenes in Logan and remarked, “It was enjoyable portraying her character in Logan, as it had a rawer feel. That’s exciting… However, I would be more than eager for a massive action-packed team-up with the Avengers if given the opportunity.
As the discussion progressed, she shared her plans for coming back as the lead Wolverine in the MCU following Avengers: Secret Wars. While Laura expressed eagerness to resume her role as X-23 post-Secret Wars, she also hinted at wanting Hugh Jackman’s character, Logan, to return. “Could we both [Laura and Logan] be present? Yes? Great. If that happens, I’d be overjoyed.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in July 2024, Keen described the dynamic between X-23 and Wolverine, played by Jackman: “X-23 serves as a significant source of emotion for Wolverine, while Wolverine is the primary emotional driving force for X-23.
