Sadly, Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu lost her life due to complications from pneumonia. This unfortunate event transpired after Hsu developed the flu during a trip to Japan.
Speaking with TVBS News in Taiwan, Barbie Hsu’s sister, Dee Hsu, announced her sister’s passing. “Over the Lunar New Year, our family visited Japan for a holiday. Sadly, my beloved sister Barbie passed away following complications from pneumonia, which was caused by influenza,” Dee Hsu said in her statement. (BBC)
At the tender age of 17, Hsu gained recognition as she teamed up with her sister to create a pop group. Later, Barbie Hsu garnered global attention when she landed the starring role in the 2001 series Meteor Garden. In this production, Hsu portrayed Shancai, a working-class teenager who found herself entangled in a complicated love triangle after attending an exclusive school, where she mixed with wealthy admirers.
