In the span of its initial four days on Netflix (January 20th to 26th), Season 2 of “The Night Agent” became the week’s most-viewed series, garnering a staggering 13.9 million views.
The strong performance of the current season is hardly surprising, considering how well Season 1 was received when it premiered in 2023, ranking No. 7 on Netflix’s list of most-watched English TV series with over 98 million views in its first 91 days. However, it seems that the debut of Season 2 hasn’t quite matched the initial hype of Season 1, which was watched by approximately 168.7 million viewers within four days before Netflix started tracking viewership in terms of views. If we compare this to Season 2’s opening weekend (which spans over 8 hours and 11 minutes), it shows that Season 1 garnered nearly twice as many views, with around 20.6 million compared to Season 2’s 13.9 million.
The debut of “The Night Agent” Season 2 encouraged many viewers to revisit Season 1, which ranked fourth with approximately 4.9 million views. This viewership was surpassed by “XO, Kitty” Season 2, which garnered 9.2 million views in its second week, and “American Primeval,” which had 6.7 million views in its third week. In the rankings, “Missing You” came in fifth with around 3.2 million views during its fourth week.
