The initial sequel of The First Descendant kicked off spectacularly in 2025 by incorporating Ines Raya into its second half. Further developments are imminent, as hinted at by the roadmap for February 2025, and fans even have some fresh incentives to seize before they become unavailable. Despite having a month left, we can now begin speculating about Season 3. The release window for Season 3 of The First Descendant has been established, and there’s plenty we already know about the upcoming installment, such as details on the new character, next Fellow, additional features, and more.
The First Descendant Season 3 release date window
The anticipated release timeframe for Season 3 of “The First Descendant” falls within the month of March. Given that previous seasons ran approximately three months each, we can expect the new season to conclude anywhere between June and July.
As a gamer, I’m excited to share that I can attempt to enroll for an early play of S3! Mark your calendars: Nexon is rolling out fresh content for the game on February 6th, and if you’re lucky, some tantalizingly hot spring-themed skins will be available a week later, on February 13th.
Nexon has scheduled another live developer stream for early February, though a specific date hasn’t been set yet. We can look forward to learning more about the forthcoming third chapter in this series.
The First Descendant Season 3 new character
In the latest instalment of The First Descendant 3, a new character named Serena is being introduced. While her physical appearance remains a mystery, she shares similarities with Hailey from Season 1 and Ines Raya from Season 2, as they too are female characters playing significant roles.
Apart from being unaware of her specific abilities, it’s clear that Serena is poised to become Nexon’s most exciting character to date due to her elemental powers. During the Season 2 Void Chaser livestream Q&A session, Nexon revealed that Serena is a fire Descendant, fulfilling a request for a female fire-wielding character which they can now finally introduce.
Instead of merely her ability to wield fire that sets Serena apart among the game’s other supermodels, it is her unique background that truly distinguishes her. As explained by Nexon, Serena is not just a contemporary Descendant, but one of the ancestors herself. This dual identity grants her an exceptional combination of traditional and modern arc skills.
Next TFD S3 Fellow
In the start of Season 2, Nexon unveiled their initial Fellow, who joined forces with Keelan. Essentially, a Fellow serves as a faithful companion, and the very first one presented was none other than the stunning and cherished German Shepherd.
If you’re among those who can’t get enough of charming canines, here’s some delightful news! Season 3 is set to introduce another four-legged friend, and this time around, it’s a lovable Labrador. In the Q&A session during the Void Chaser livestream on December 12th, Nexon confirmed, “The next pup will be a Labrador Retriever, so get ready for cuteness!
Regrettably, for cat enthusiasts, Nexon mentioned that “since cats tend not to respond to their owners as expected, they may not align with the game’s concept.
New TFD S3 features
It seems that the highly anticipated addition to The First Descendant in its third season could be the photo mode feature. Fans of the game have longed for this functionality since its initial release, and according to information shared during a Q&A session on Discord, it’s slated to arrive as early as March, as confirmed by Nexon.
Besides the photo mode, Nexon is also anticipating to roll out the much-desired “dynamic movement” feature, starting from the later part of S3. The developers aim to incorporate this feature around May, which is expected to be included in the second half update for the third chapter.
