The character named Dog Man made his big screen debut in U.S. theaters on January 31, 2025. This animated comedy movie with superhero elements tells the story of a police officer who is half-dog and half-human. Our protagonist, Dog Man, finds himself battling against Petey (played by Pete Davidson), an evil Orange Cat. The film offers a thrilling adventure filled with themes like friendship, valor, and redemption. With superhero movies being popular, many are curious to know if there’s an ending, mid-movie, or post-credits scene in Dog Man.
Is there an end, mid or post-credits scene in Dog Man?
No, Dog Man doesn’t have an end, mid, or post-credits scene.
Typically, scenes in franchise films serve two purposes: they either pave the way for upcoming projects or offer a brief, enjoyable ending to the storyline. In the case of Dog Man, directed and voiced by Peter Hastings based on Dav Pilkey’s graphic novel series, the film doesn’t include a post-credits scene to hint at future plots. Instead, the series’ multiple entries may be further developed in potential Dog Man sequels.
In the film, Dog Man and Petey initially struggle to work together to defeat Flippy the Fish, portrayed by Ricky Gervais. A fight breaks out, during which Dog Man and Petey combine their efforts to create a giant monster-like mailman to confront Mecha Petey. Later on, Little Petey (Lucas Hopkins) motivates Flippy to undergo a change, leading him to feel regretful about his past actions. The movie concludes with Dog Man, Petey, Little Petey, and other characters rejoicing as they’ve successfully protected the city.
Speaking about the movie’s conclusion, Hastings shared with NBC Insider his intention for the audience to understand that although there may be challenges, everything will eventually work out. “The ending is so meaningful,” he expressed. “I wanted someone watching in a cinema with their child to finish the film and simply look at each other, feeling reassured, ‘Everything is going to be alright.’ I adore that sentiment because life can be tough and demanding. But everything will be okay. That moment has always been my favorite part, and what I appreciate about it is that it resonates whether you’re having a good day or a bad one,” Hastings concluded.
