At 36 years old, this esteemed royal is married to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, a successful businessman and architect. The couple chose the name Athena for their newborn daughter. Beatrice, who is already a mother to Sienna, also takes on the role of stepmother to Wolfie, Mozzi’s son from his earlier relationship.

On Wednesday, January 22, 2025, Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi delightfully welcomed their second child, Athena Elizabeth Rose Mapelli Mozzi, at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London, precisely at 12:57 p.m. The palace made the announcement on January 29, a week following the birth.

At her birth, Athena tipped the scales at roughly 1.9 kilograms, which is equivalent to 4 pounds and 5 ounces. It’s been reported that both Beatrice and the new baby are currently enjoying excellent health.

Athena, the newborn’s name, is reminiscent of the Greek goddess symbolizing wisdom and war. Coincidentally, just like her older sister Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi, she bears the middle name Elizabeth, honoring their late great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth. As a result, Athena now ranks 11th in line for succession to the British throne after her birth.

It was announced that a new member of the royal family has arrived, and King Charles III, Queen Camilla, along with other royal family members, were notified and expressed their happiness about the news. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi also confirmed this birth on his social media platforms by posting a photo of her (the baby) on Instagram, though her face was covered in the image.
