For quite some time, discussions have been ongoing about creating a follow-up to the popular comedy film. According to The Hollywood Reporter, it appears that Sorvino and Kudrow are currently negotiating to reappear in the roles they played in Romy and Michele’s sequel. Additionally, they may also take on the role of executive producers for this upcoming project.

In the upcoming sequel to “Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion,” Tim Federle will take on the director’s chair. Known for directing last year’s “Better Nate Than Ever” featuring Kudrow in a secondary role, Federle has also created the TV series “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series” and penned the script for the 2017 animated film “Ferdinand.
