A well-known Twitch personality named Kai Cenat has explained the cause for rapper Drake’s decision to block him, following their ongoing disagreement with Kendrick Lamar. Known for being one of the favorite streamers among younger audiences, in 2024, Cenat achieved a significant milestone when he had an encounter with Drake and got a sneak peek at his unheard tracks.
Without further ado, here are all the details Cenat shared as to why Drake blocked him.
Why did Drake block Kai Cenat?
A well-known figure from the online world recently had a chat, where he shared insights about his partnerships with various famous stars.
When Billboard requested Kai Cenat to recount his most cherished moment as a streamer in 2024, he quickly pointed to the instance when Drake and Kendrick Lamar were engaging fiercely, with rumors that Drake had blocked him. In April of 2024, Cenat found himself mentioned in one of Drake’s leaked diss tracks directed at Lamar, titled “Push Ups (Drop and Give Me Fifty).
Later in May, the rapper reached out to me directly and asked if I’d play his new track “Family Matters” during my stream. It turned out to be a massive draw for viewers. But according to Billboard, our budding friendship took a hit when Cenat called Drake’s latest release, “The Heart Part 6,” weak. Apparently, this comment didn’t sit well with Drake and he blocked Cenat as a result.
Regarding the Drake-Kendrick Lamar feud, Cenat expressed that it was the most exhilarating moment for him, and he won’t sugarcoat it. He had never encountered anything similar before, and it turned out to be quite an exciting week. People had diverse opinions about it, and during live streams, he would attract approximately 60,000 viewers. As soon as the tracks were released, his viewership skyrocketed to around 100,000.
To add on, the broadcaster declared that according to his perspective, Kendrick (Lamar) came out on top in the feud with Drake. However, he didn’t openly reveal which artist he supported. He continued by saying, “I have a good relationship with Drake. Yet, I can’t deny the truth. Kendrick won that round. It was impressive. I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it.
Kai Cenat similarly expressed that he was simply “savoring the occasion,” since both musicians were releasing fresh tracks at the same time.
