The cast of “Scream 7” is expanding rapidly as Mark Consuelos has now officially signed on for the upcoming installment in the horror series, according to recent reports from Deadline.
Consuelos is primarily recognized for being a co-host on the popular ABC chat show “Live with Kelly and Ryan,” sharing the stage with his wife Kelly Ripa. At this point, it’s unclear what role he will play in the upcoming film, as Deadline has reported that the details of his part are being kept confidential for now.
Beyond his duties as a talk show host, Emmy-winning Consuelos has also made appearances in several acting ventures, with the most notable being his role of over 100 episodes in the soap opera All My Children, where he portrayed Mateo Santos. His acting career includes films like My Super Ex-Girlfriend, Nine Lives, and All We Had. He also provides a recurring voice for the Disney Channel animated series Primos.
Who else is in the Scream 7 cast?
As of now, I’m keeping my fingers crossed about the specifics of the upcoming movie, but I’ve just heard that McHale is set to join an ever-expanding cast! Alongside McHale and Campbell, it looks like we’ll be seeing Scream 7 bring back a familiar face – Courteney Cox will reprise her role as Gale Weathers in the franchise once more. I can hardly wait!
In the upcoming installment of the series, both Mason Gooding and Jasmine Savoy Brown are expected to resume their characters: Chad Meeks-Martin for Gooding, and Mindy Meeks-Martin for Brown.
1883 star Isabela May has been added to the project, taking on the role of Sidney Prescott’s daughter. Alongside her, McKenna Grace, Asa Germann, Sam Rechner, Celeste O’Connor, and Anna Camp have also joined the film’s cast. In addition, Joel McHale is set to portray Sidney Prescott’s husband, Mark Evans, in the upcoming movie.
The road to Scream 7 has faced some turbulence. Recently, Melissa Barrera’s involvement with the franchise was terminated by Spyglass Media Group due to her public comments regarding the Israel and Palestine conflict. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Barrera shared her struggles during that period.
Barrera expressed that it was indeed challenging due to being in a rather hazy mental condition, yet incredibly lucky. A multitude of individuals rallied behind him; his team, in particular, his publicists – they were the ones who held him up.
Following Barrera’s termination, it was reported that Jenna Ortega stepped away from Scream 7 as well, prior to Christopher Landon’s announcement in December 2023 that he would no longer be at the helm of the film. Consequently, the forthcoming project will now be directed by Kevin Williamson, who penned the script for the original Scream and its sequel.
