Dan Abrams, who hosts “Dan Abrams Live,” has announced that he is stepping down from his primetime show on NewsNation. During a broadcast in December 2024, Abrams disclosed that he will continue to work with NewsNation in a new position. This decision has left many wondering about the reasons for his departure.

Why and when Dan Abrams is leaving NewsNation
Dan Abrams has revealed that he will part ways with his primetime show, Dan Abrams Live, on NewsNation in February 2025. During a broadcast in December 2024, Abrams informed the audience about this decision, mentioning that managing multiple responsibilities had become challenging for him.
Over time, he has amassed an impressive body of work, serving as the chief legal analyst for ABC News, hosting the live show On Patrol on Reelz, and running a daily radio program for SiriusXM. Additionally, he oversees a burgeoning digital media conglomerate that encompasses Mediaite and the Law & Crime Network.
Abrams clarified his choice by stating, “Three years following an opportunity I didn’t anticipate, I find myself at a stage where it’s no longer feasible to devote the required time for this show while simultaneously managing and expanding my other businesses.” Although he appreciated the pleasure he derived from hosting the evening program, Abrams admitted that his other ventures have become too substantial to neglect. However, he emphasized to viewers that he will continue to be associated with NewsNation in a contributor position, with more specifics to be shared in February 2025.
Ever since he started working at NewsNation in 2021, Abrams has been instrumental in establishing the network as an unbiased political platform. His show was previously aired at 8 p.m., but due to scheduling changes made to accommodate Chris Cuomo, it’s now shown at 9 p.m. As of yet, NewsNation hasn’t revealed who will fill the important 9 p.m. time slot. Until his departure in February, Abrams will remain as the host for this program.
