DJ Unk passes away at 43

On January 24, 2025, DJ Unk’s spouse, Sherkita Long-Plat, posted on Facebook to announce his passing. At the time of his death, he was 43 years old.

According to TMZ, citing Long-Plat, it was reported that Unk passed away in his sleep on January 24 following a heart attack. Long-Plat clarified to the outlet that she wanted to set the record straight regarding the rumors surrounding Unk’s death and shared that he died of natural causes, not due to any drug-related complications.

Unk’s first album, ‘Beat’n Down Yo Block!’, included the hit song “Walk It Out”. This track helped him establish himself firmly in the music business. After that, he released another album titled ‘Second Season’ in 2008, which had moderate success. Unfortunately, Unk faced health problems throughout his career, and these are said to have affected his professional life.
