L2 Empuraan: Mohanlal says, ‘Prithviraj is a ruthless director’ at teaser launch event; spills beans on hardships faced at shoot

Mohanlal is gearing up to showcase a brand-new persona in his upcoming movie titled L2: Empuraan. The official trailer for this film was recently debuted, and at its launch event, Mohanlal shared some fascinating stories from the set.

At the teaser unveiling event, Mohanlal referred to Prithviraj Sukumaran as a relentless director. He elaborated by stating that the director extracts precisely what he desires from actors during their work, which, in his opinion, is the optimal conduct for any filmmaker.

Mohanlal expressed, “Prithviraj is a relentless director who knows how to extract the best from us for a film. This is what great direction should be like. The quality of actors in a movie depends largely on the director. I have faith in my directors and hold high expectations for Prithvi as an actor, believing he will become one of India’s top directors.

Moving forward, he also discussed the difficulties they faced during movie production. Mohanlal acknowledged Prithviraj for giving his all to this specific project, stating that when viewers see it, they’ll truly appreciate the dedication and effort that went into it.

Reflecting on the challenging conditions under which the movie was made and the limited crew, Mohanlal commented, “We spent quite a few days waiting around. Yet, the team was compact. This is how Prithvi was filmed. There were around 3 or 4 hundred individuals involved. It was a modest production, and it’s a small film.

For those unfamiliar, L2 Empuraan stars Prithviraj Sukumaran as well as one of the main characters, and he also serves as director. Additional actors include Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Indrajith Sukumaran, and others. This film is being produced by Mohanlal’s production company, Aashirvaad Cinemas. It is set to premiere in theaters on March 27, 2025.
