Vishal slams director Mysskin for his controversial comments on Ilaiyaraaja: ‘It has become a habit’

Recently, Director Mysskin generated buzz with his questionable comments regarding Ilaiyaraaja. At a gathering celebrating the movie Bottle Radha, he suggested that some individuals developed alcohol dependencies due to listening to the renowned musician’s music. Subsequently, he expressed regret for these remarks; however, Vishal strongly criticized the filmmaker and his apology.

The actor expressed in a recent interview, as seen in a video shared by Cinema Vikatan, that he often finds himself apologizing after certain events. When asked by the media, he stated, “I’ve developed a habit of it; what can you do?” He also mentioned that some individuals may find it difficult to alter their inherent nature.

Vishal stated emphatically that Mysskin would never disrespect Ilaiyaraaja, whose music has significantly touched countless lives. He further noted that many individuals have found relief from depression through his compositions. To emphasize his point, he continued by saying that Ilaiyaraaja’s melodies are deeply ingrained within people and no one should dare to speak disrespectfully towards him.

At the premiere of Bad Girl, filmmaker Mysskin publicly apologized for any misunderstandings or offenses he may have caused. He specifically mentioned his apologies to lyricist Thamarai, director Lenin Bharathi, actor Aruldoss, Lakshmy Ramakrishnan, producer Thanu, and even a friend who had criticized him harshly enough to suggest throwing a shoe at him.

Mysskin made it clear that some of his previous statements were misconstrued, revealing they were intended as humor. He shared his admiration for cinema, highlighting how his films consistently incorporate social themes and affection. In conclusion, he expressed a heartfelt apology and requested forgiveness for any misunderstandings in his earlier comments.

Previously, Vishal and Mysskin joined forces for the 2017 film “Thupparivaalan.” This action thriller was a hit. Yet, rumors circulate that a disagreement arose between them due to contrasting viewpoints. In addition to the main characters, Vinay Rai and Prasanna played significant roles in this production.
