More casually, actress Lauren Graham recently discussed the similarities between her characters from “Gilmore Girls” and her new role in the upcoming Tubi comedy, “The Z-Suite.” Known globally for playing Lorelai Gilmore on “Gilmore Girls,” where she portrayed the mother of Alexis Bledel’s Rory Gilmore as they faced life together, Graham is now back on TV screens this year with “The Z-Suite.” She has shared her thoughts about how Lorelai Gilmore compares to her leading character in the upcoming Tubi series.
Lauren Graham wants Gilmore Girls fans to support The Z-Suite despite ‘no similarities’
Recently, a longtime TV star, who is 57 years old, disclosed that her part in Gilmore Girls doesn’t share any likeness with her character from Tubi’s The Z-Suite. However, she encourages fans of the Amy Sherman-Palladino-produced series to give The Z-Suite a fair chance nonetheless.
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Lauren Graham explained that her new character shares no resemblance to Lorelai Gilmore, and she’s excited for viewers to join this fresh journey. She stressed the uniqueness of her previous role on Gilmore Girls, stating that she could never recreate its charm and enchantment. Instead, she views this new project as something distinct yet entertaining, with a spirit that offers a comforting vibe, albeit different from the character she played before.
In The Z-Suite, Graham portrays Monica Marks, a marketing expert who finds herself jobless and tarnished by a misunderstanding, accompanied by her trusted associate. Facing the challenge together, they opt to reunite and reclaim their industry standing, while simultaneously confronting the modern competitors who have seemingly ousted them from the spotlight.
The Z-Suite releases on Tubi on February 6, 2025.
