Anthony Rizzo, a professional baseball player, revealed on Instagram that him and his wife Emily Vakos are going to become parents for the first time. Known as a first baseman, Rizzo is currently unsigned in Major League Baseball (MLB), having previously played for teams such as the San Diego Padres, Chicago Cubs, and New York Yankees during his career.

On Thursday, Rizzo shared on Instagram that he and Emily Vakos are expecting their first child. The beloved Chicago Cubs player creatively announced this using their pet dog, Kevin, as the messenger. In a sweet photo posted by Rizzo, Kevin is seen sitting on a sofa with a scarf around his neck that reads “big brother.” The caption read, “Kev dog is becoming an older sibling!!” Emily was tagged in the post and it included several blue heart emojis.

Additionally, the picture includes various ultrasound images, a set of tiny baby shoes, and a onesie that bears the name “baby Rizzo”.

His encounter with Emily Vakos happened in 2016 when he was still associated with the Cubs. The duo got engaged in 2017 and tied the knot on December 29, 2018, in South Florida. Their pet dog, Kevin, joined their family in 2020. As of now, they reside in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
