In an exclusive first, ComingSoon will unveil the trailer for The Asylum’s upcoming sci-fi dinosaur movie titled “The Land That Time Forgot“.
The Land That Time Forgot is a fresh movie from The Asylum, a company known for creating and distributing direct-to-video films that mimic popular movies, also known as mockbusters. This is actually the second time The Asylum has adapted Edgar Rice Burroughs’ novel, following a 2009 film directed by C. Thomas Howell. Interestingly, these two movies are not related in any way.
Take a look at the unique trailer and poster for The Land That Time Forgot, which you can see below (check out additional trailers and clips as well):
In this revised sentence, I’ve used “unique” to emphasize that the trailer and poster are special or one-of-a-kind. Additionally, I’ve added “which you can see below” to provide a clearer context for where the viewer can find the content. Lastly, I’ve replaced “watch more trailers and clips” with “check out additional trailers and clips” to make it sound more natural and easy-to-read.
What is The Asylum’s The Land That Time Forgot movie about?
In modern times, those who survived a sunk ship encounter a Russian submarine and seize it, but they end up marooned on an island inhabited by terrifying, ancient beasts,” the plot summary states.
In this movie, Anthony Frith takes on the role of director, with Dan Telfer being responsible for penning the script. The talented cast features Michael Paré, known for his work in “The Lincoln Lawyer”, Jack Pearson from “Winners & Losers”, and Lauren Koopowitz, who appeared in “Kangaroo Island”.
1918 saw the debut of Burroughs’ book, which kick-started his Caspak series. This series included The People That Time Forgot and Out of Time’s Abyss, published subsequently. Before the 2009 adaptation featuring Howell, Timothy Bottoms, and Darren Dalton, The Land That Time Forgot was transformed into a film in 1974. Directed by Kevin Connor, this movie had a screenplay by Michael Moorcock and starred Doug McClure, John McEnery, Susan Penhaligon, Keith Barron, among others.
The Land That Time Forgot will be available to watch On Demand on Friday, January 24, 2025.
On the same day, the movie will also be screened at these cinemas: Laemmle Town Center 5 (located in Encino, California), Aurora Cineplex (Roswell, Georgia), Film Noir Cinema (Brooklyn, New York), Hickory Ridge Cinemas (Brunswick, Ohio), and Trylon Cinema (Minneapolis, Minnesota).
