In a bid to support the local economy following the wildfires, Vin Diesel has revealed that the final stages of filming for the eagerly awaited movie titled “Fast X: Part 2” will be completed in Los Angeles.
What did Vin Diesel say about Fast X: Part 2?
In an Instagram post, Vin Diesel revealed that it was Jordana Brewster from the Fast and Furious series who suggested the idea, after which he announced that the franchise would be going back to its original filming location, marking a return “home” after many years.
A week ago, as fires were forcing people from LA, my sister Jordana contacted me asking Universal to complete the remaining scenes of Fast X Part 2 in LA. In her opinion, LA needs it more than ever right now. After all, Fast and Furious initially started filming in LA 25 years ago, and now, Fast is coming back home. Sending love…

The sequel to Fast X Part 2 is being helmed by director Louis Leterrier, the same man behind the upcoming 2023’s Fast X. Originally, Fast X was intended as the start of a fresh trilogy within the Fast and Furious franchise; however, Vin Diesel announced in February 2024 that Fast X Part 2 will serve as a “grand conclusion.
As an enthusiastic fan, I’ve heard whispers that the upcoming Fast X Part 2 might hark back to the essence of the original Fast and Furious film. There’s a possibility it could introduce a new antagonist instead of Dante, played by Jason Momoa, although the specific details about the plot are still shrouded in mystery at this moment.
In May 2023, Fast X hit the big screens across U.S. theaters. The film is said to have grossed around $714 million worldwide, with a production budget approximately $378.8 million.
In Fast X, Michelle Rodriguez plays Letty Ortiz, Tyrese Gibson is Roman Pearce, Ludacris takes on Tej Parker, John Cena joins the cast as Jakob Toretto, Nathalie Emmanuel portrays Ramsey, Jordana Brewster appears as Mia Toretto, Sung Kang reprises his role as Han Lue, Scott Eastwood is Little Nobody, Daniela Melchior stars as Isabel Neves, Alan Ritchson becomes Aimes, Helen Mirren returns as Magdalene Ellmanson-Shaw, Brie Larson makes her debut as Tess, Rita Moreno joins the crew as Abuelita Toretto, Jason Statham and Charlize Theron reprise their roles as Deckard Shaw and Cipher respectively, while Momoa is introduced as Reyes.
Fast X is currently streaming on Prime Video. Fast X Part 2 is expected to be released in 2026.
