Sadly, our dear Rebecca Wylie Simms, fondly known as “Boo,” left us at the age of 39, following a heartrending complication during surgery. This heartbreaking news was spread by her twin sister and joint proprietor of the Lady and Larder cheese shop, Sarah Simms Hendrix.
Hendrix shared the sad news on Instagram, expressing that the loss was beyond measure and left their hearts in pieces. “Boo was our creator of magic, our vibrant artist, and the most radiant beacon I’ve ever encountered,” Hendrix penned down.
In her post, Simms pleaded for supporters’ compassion and tolerance as they navigated through their grief. Moreover, she disclosed that their Carmel Valley store would temporarily shut down, but their Santa Monica location would continue operations.
An exact date of death was not disclosed on the post.
Many people, both fans and Simms’ famous acquaintances, expressed their sympathies. Actor and director Mark Duplass penned, “We send you our heartfelt love. A pledge to uphold her unconquerable spirit and extraordinary positivity.

Simms is mourned by her two children, Mavis Loretta and Bertie Lou, in addition to her loving husband, Sean Montes.
