In 2024, the film Kalki 2898 AD became one of Indian cinema’s biggest hits. Since the movie concluded with an open ending, anticipation for a follow-up has been quite significant. According to recent news reports, it appears that production on the sequel may commence shortly.
As per a report by Manobala Vijayabalan on what was once Twitter, it’s anticipated that the long-awaited follow-up movie might start filming in June 2025. At this point, though, this is all speculation; only the creators themselves can confirm any official news.
Lately, the film’s producer, Aswini Dutt, shared insights about the sequel, revealing it will largely revolve around three key characters portrayed by Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan.
According to a recent report from Gulte, it’s been emphasized that Kamal Haasan will appear more frequently on screen than in the initial installment. Furthermore, the scenes between him and Prabhas are expected to be intriguing. Notably, Amitabh Bachchan and Deepika will also return to their roles, taking on significant parts.
The movie “Kalki 2898 AD,” helmed by Nag Ashwin, is an epic science-fiction dystopian film featuring Prabhas as the main character. This film, inspired by Hindu mythology, portrays Kalki, the predicted 10th avatar of Lord Vishnu. Kalki is believed to bring about a new era and be the final beacon of hope for humanity.
In this film, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan share the leading roles, narrating the story of Kalki’s birth and the complexities involved. Kamal Haasan plays the central villain, while Disha Patani, Rajendra Prasad, Shobana, Pasupathy, Anna Ben, and several other well-known actors are part of the stellar cast, each assuming crucial roles in the production.
Additionally, the film showcased well-known actors such as Dulquer Salmaan, Mrunal Thakur, Vijay Deverakonda, and others in brief roles.
In the future, you’ll find Prabhas starring as the main character in the movie titled “The Raja Saab.” This film is helmed by director Maruthi and features a horror-comedy genre. Malavika Mohanan and Nidhhi Agerwal are the principal actresses in this production.
