The captivating mini-series, Miss Austen, explores this dramatic action and weaves an emotional narrative around the romantic journeys and heartaches of both the Austen sisters.

When is the Miss Austen release date?

On Sunday, May 4th, 2025, Miss Austen will be premiering. This production features Keeley Hawes portraying Cassandra Austen, Rose Leslie as Isabella, Synnøve Karlsen as young Cassy, and Patsy Ferran as Jane Austen. This timely show is arriving just in time for the 250th anniversary of the renowned author’s birthday this year.

The four-part drama titled this, is helmed by BAFTA award-winning director Aisling Walsh, who has collaborated before with screenwriter Andrea Gibb on the TV movie Elizabeth is Missing. Joining them in the cast are renowned actors like Phyllis Logan (Downton Abbey), Max Irons (The Wife), Alfred Enoch (How to Get Away with Murder), Jessica Hynes (Life After Life), Mirren Mack (The Witcher: Blood Origin), Kevin McNally (The Crown), Calam Lynch (Bridgerton) and Liv Hill (The Serpent Queen). This production is a joint effort by Bonnie Productions, MASTERPIECE, BBC, and Federation Stories, with Stella Merz (Gentleman Jack, Renegade Nell) taking on the role of producer.
