Chris Columbus, who directed the first two Harry Potter films (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets), has expressed his thoughts on the upcoming Harry Potter television series.

At a recent screening in Los Angeles for filmmaker Robert Eggers’ horror flick “Nosferatu,” Columbus engaged in conversation with reporters from PEOPLE magazine. Upon being queried about the upcoming Harry Potter series, the director expressed his enthusiasm for the concept.

As a game enthusiast, I find this concept utterly captivating! You see, when it comes to creating a movie, there are limitations in terms of runtime. Our first production clocked in at a gripping two hours and forty minutes, and surprisingly, the sequel wasn’t far behind.

Columbus expressed his delight about having more space to incorporate additional details from the books into the series, as opposed to movies. He commented, “Having multiple episodes for each book is wonderful,” and added that this format allows them to include elements that were previously unattainable in films. Furthermore, he mentioned his anticipation to see how they plan to approach it.
