Top Seeds Dominate, But Big Names Miss Out

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to say that G2, Spirit, Natus Vincere, and Vitality truly proved their mettle, living up to their impressive reputations and securing their places in the competition. Yet, this tournament was also filled with unexpected twists, as powerhouses like FaZe Clan, MOUZ, and Falcons unfortunately failed to meet expectations and missed out on the coveted LAN spots.

In the mix, there were underdog stories as well, with HEROIC and BetBoom managing to qualify despite recent roster adjustments. Both teams shone during their initial stages, but BetBoom is set to encounter an extra hurdle in Copenhagen. Unfortunately, visa problems will keep their team leader Kirill “⁠Boombl4⁠” Mikhailov and AWPer Aleksandr “⁠zorte⁠” Zagodyrenko out of the competition. In their absence, players Vladislav “⁠nafany⁠” Gorshkov and Aleksandr “⁠KaiR0N-⁠” Anashkin, who were benched following the team’s difficulties at the Shanghai Major RMR, will step in as substitutes.

Both teams showcased exceptional play during the last 16 games – paiN stunned FaZe Clan with a 2-0 win, while Eternal Fire defeated the revamped Falcons lineup in a convincing manner. G2 had a close call against BIG Clan but eventually secured their spot. HEROIC earned attention by beating Team Liquid 2-1 to advance to Copenhagen.
