Kantara Chapter 1: After complaints of destroying forest area, Karnataka Forest Department starts probe into Rishab Shetty starrer

At present, Rishab Shetty is engrossed in the filming of Kantara Chapter 1, a prequel to his previous movie Kantara. This production has gained notice lately due to concerns raised by locals about the use of explosives during shooting in forest areas, potentially threatening wildlife. In addition, incidents have been reported where a crew member allegedly physically attacked a local resident during an argument.

Currently, following a report from Bangalore Mirror, the Karnataka Forest Department is conducting an investigation at the location where Kantara Chapter 1 was filmed, which is situated in Herur village.

The Karnataka Forest Minister, Eshwar Khandre, emphasized that it was only granted permission for Hombale Films to film their movie within the pastureland near Gavibetta.

As a die-hard admirer, I can’t help but feel disheartened upon hearing reports from the locals at the Yesalur Police Station. It appears that the film crew may have overstepped their bounds by venturing into the heart of the forest for their shoot and possibly disrupting the delicate balance of the local wildlife.

The Forest Minister announced that an investigation was promptly initiated following the barrage of complaints. Furthermore, filming in the forest will be halted straightaway if, upon completion of the investigation, forest officials discover any breaches of forest regulations.

He informed us that upon learning about the situation, he promptly directed the authorities to investigate the site thoroughly. If it is discovered that the guidelines established by the Deputy Conservator of Forests in Hassan have been disregarded and wildlife has suffered harm, the activity will be halted straight away.

In simpler terms, based on a previous report by India Today, it’s said that the crew is believed to have reacted aggressively towards a local resident who expressed concerns about potential environmental harm and damage to the forest caused by their filming activities.
