At a recent screening of his movie “Pravinkoodu Shappu”, the actor addressed the ongoing comparisons being drawn between him and fellow actor Dileep.
For those new to this topic, while Basil is frequently celebrated as ‘the people’s favorite’ by followers, Dileep is equally well-known as ‘the Beloved Hero of the People’. Both phrases convey the idea that these individuals are widely cherished and admired.
In reply, Basil clarified the significant distinction between his and Dileep’s acting approaches. He pointed out that Dileep, on his own, crafted an impressive legacy throughout the years.
In regards to him, the Sookshmadarshini star expressed a wish to forge his unique identity.
As a lifestyle connoisseur, I acknowledge Dileep’s unique flair, crafted through the movies we cherished from our youth. While I appreciate the admiration I receive, I yearn to carve out my own niche. His remarkable legacy was self-made, and I have no desire to be measured against it. Instead, I aim to forge my own path.
Moving on to the latest release of Basil’s work, Pravinkoodu Shappu made its grand debut on the cinemas on January 16th. Notably, Shoubin Shahir is also part of this production, playing a significant character.
According to audience feedback so far, the film seems to have nailed the elements of both comedy and suspense, making it an authentic blend. Interestingly, the second part of the movie appears to be garnering even more appreciation compared to the first.
Meanwhile, it’s worth noting that Basil’s latest film, Sookshmadarshini, enjoyed a profitable run at the cinema. Featuring Nazriya Nazim, this movie has just started streaming on Disney+Hotstar.
