Busta Rhymes Accused of Assaulting His 50-Year Old Assistant

Busta Rhymes is under investigation for allegedly assaulting his 50-year-old assistant in a scuffle at a Brooklyn condo. The event, transpired on January 10, has sparked a police probe and potential legal proceedings against the musician.

Here is more about the case against Busta Rhymes.

Busta Rhymes accused of assault in Brooklyn

On January 10th, in Brooklyn, Busta Rhymes, a renowned rapper and Grammy-nominated musician, is being charged with assault following an incident at a luxury condo in Dumbo. The altercation allegedly occurred when Rhymes physically attacked his 50-year-old assistant, Dashiel Gables, after the latter was using his phone during work. This confrontation resulted in a violent outburst from Rhymes, leaving Gables with noticeable facial swelling.

After the recent event, the rapper, whose birth name is Trevor Tahiem Smith Jr., willingly surrendered to the Brooklyn police on January 12th. He was indicted for third-degree assault and given a summons to appear in court for arraignment. The probe continues, and further information may surface as the case progresses.

Concerning Gables, he’s decided against making any public statements regarding the issue. His attorney has suggested he avoid engaging with the media. In his words, “Perhaps later, perhaps in the future. I can’t jeopardize my case, man. It’s not worth it. An article versus a six or seven-million-dollar settlement? I’m not taking that risk, sorry.” Gables’ court date is set for February 2nd, where the legal process will carry on. (As reported by New York Post)

As a dedicated admirer, I can’t help but note that the rapper’s life story seems to have had its fair share of run-ins with the law enforcement. Over the years, he’s found himself in various legal predicaments, ranging from assault incidents and traffic offenses to more… unconventional altercations – like the time he was accused of tossing a drink at a gym employee back in 2015, or last year when a beverage-fueled spat with a fan made headlines.
