In 2024, the movie Pushpa 2 starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil was among the top earners of the year. This film shattered all previous records and established a new standard for success. At a recent press event, the director Sukumar made an intriguing disclosure; his daughter, who is also involved in the industry, shared some fascinating insights about Pushpa 2.
For those who aren’t familiar, director Sukumar’s daughter, Sukriti Veni Bandreddi, recently entered the film industry with the release of Gandhi Thatha Chettu. Lately, she has been present alongside her father and mother, Tabitha, at a press conference for Pushpa 2.
When journalists asked Sukriti if she had always aspired to become an actor given her father’s acclaimed career in filmmaking, Sukriti cleverly answered instead.
She admitted that she had inquired from her father, Sukumar, about joining Pushpa 2, yet he made it clear that even she would need to go through the process of auditioning for the role.
In her words, “I asked my dad if I could act in Pushpa. He said, do an audition, let’s see.”
At the very same function, I, a proud father, couldn’t help but spill some beans about my daughter’s breathtaking stage debut. Let me tell you, her screen presence left me utterly amazed by the talent she displayed!
The director mentioned that he’s unfazed if others perceive him as boasting about his daughter, given his praise for her acting skills. Additionally, he commended the team behind “Gandhi Thatha Chettu” for creating such a heartwarming movie in the initial stage.
He shared that when he initially watched Sukriti’s performance in the video clip, he was genuinely impressed. Without a second thought, he couldn’t help but boast about how exceptionally well his daughter had performed. Moreover, it’s worth mentioning that Sindhu Rao, the film’s producer, put in an immense amount of effort to make the project successful.
