In the year 2898 AD, the movie Kalki became a massive box office sensation, with Nag Ashwin directing it. The film showcased Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, and Amitabh Bachchan in significant roles. After the film’s unprecedented success, fans have been eagerly waiting for its sequel, which has now officially been announced by the team. Recently, producer Aswini Dutt unveiled captivating details about Kalki 2 and provided intriguing insights into the characters.
According to information from Gulte, it’s been announced by the creator of Kalki 2898 AD that the upcoming installment will largely focus on three main characters: Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, and Kamal Haasan.
Initially, the movie featured numerous characters and encompassed diverse landscapes. Although Big B played a key role, Kamal Haasan’s screen appearance was brief. This led to a sense of letdown among many fans. However, during promotions, Kamal Haasan hinted that his part in the upcoming sequel would be more extensive.
According to Aswini Dutt, as reported by Gulte, you can expect Kamal Haasan to be featured extensively in the film. The interactions between Prabhas and Kamal are expected to be intriguing. Amitabh Bachchan will also play a notable role. Deepika Padukone’s character is also set to take center stage. I don’t think there will be any new faces introduced in the second part of this project.
In an interview with TopMob, Kamal Haasan revealed details about his role in Nag Ashwin’s upcoming project and explained why he agreed to be a part of it. He stated, “I agreed to appear in Kalki 2898 AD for the sequel. My role in Kalki 2898 AD is quite minor, but it was the second part that drew me in. In this second part, I only worked on a few days, but I appreciated their confidence in me by signing me for a film yet to be produced.
In the year 2898 AD, Kalki was one of the most profitable Telugu films released in 2024. At present, preparations for the sequel are ongoing. Deepika Padukone will return to her role in the second installment, sharing screen time with Prabhas. The creators have chosen to keep secret any additional information about Kalki 2.
