Donald Trump announced that Jon Voight, Sylvester Stallone, and Mel Gibson would serve as distinguished representatives or advocates for the Hollywood industry.
In the upcoming years, Voight, Stallone, and Gibson, who have openly backed Trump previously, are set to serve as the President-elect’s informants or advisors in the entertainment industry based in Hollywood, California.
What did Donald Trump say about Jon Voight, Sylvester Stallone, and Mel Gibson?
Trump declared on Truth Social Thursday that he is proud to designate Jon Voight, Mel Gibson, and Sylvester Stallone as Special Ambassadors for the struggling yet influential region of Hollywood, California. In this role, they will serve as Special Envoys tasked with bringing Hollywood back to its former glory, making it even more successful than before. These gifted individuals will provide insights on my behalf and help me achieve success in this endeavor. Just like America itself, under their guidance, Hollywood will experience a new Golden Age!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, it’s unclear at this point exactly which roles the actors will take on to contribute to the increase of film production within the country.
For about ten years, Gibson faced a ban in Hollywood due to his controversial anti-Semitic remarks. However, he found redemption when he directed Andrew Garfield in Hacksaw Ridge in 2016. His latest directorial project, Flight Risk, hits theaters this month, and in recent times, he has taken on acting roles like those in Fatman (2020), Father Stu (2022), and Monster Summer (2024).
Known for portraying iconic characters like Rocky Balboa in the Rocky series, John Rambo in the Rambo movies, and others, Sylvester Stallone – who recently compared Trump to George Washington at a November event – has also collaborated on the script for David Ayer’s upcoming film, “A Working Man,” which is set for release in March.
Voight, known for his vocal conservative stance, has shifted from his earlier liberal perspectives during his lifetime. In 2020, he portrayed Hamilton Crassus III in Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis and more recently, he played Viktor Petrovich in the Reagan biopic, titled simply ‘Reagan’, which premiered last August.
