Until Dawn Trailer Previews Sony’s Live-Action Horror Based on Video Game

As an ardent admirer, I’m thrilled to share that Sony has unveiled the authentic preview for “Until Dawn“, a chilling live-action movie stemming from the creative minds at PlayStation Studios.

A year following her sister Melanie’s enigmatic disappearance, Clover and her companions venture into a secluded valley where she vanished, hoping to uncover answers. As they explore an abandoned visitor center, they are pursued by a masked murderer who gruesomely slaughters them one by one…yet, each time they awaken to find themselves back at the start of the same fateful evening. Caught in this valley, they are compelled to endure this horrifying ordeal repeatedly – with each replay, the threat from the killer escalates, becoming increasingly terrifying. With hope fading, the group soon understands that they have a finite number of deaths allowed, and their only chance for freedom is to survive until dawn.

What happens in the Until Dawn trailer?

In the trailer, it’s shown that the film takes a unique approach to the concept seen in choice-based video games, where various character decisions shape the game’s ending. However, this movie puts a twist on this by having characters restart from the beginning of the night after they die, which is akin to being trapped in a time loop. The only means of escape is by surviving until daybreak.

I’m absolutely thrilled about the stellar cast of Until Dawn! As a fan, I can’t wait to see Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Odessa A’zion, Ji-young Yoo, Belmont Cameli, Maia Mitchell, and the incredible Peter Stormare bring their talents to life. Peter even lends his voice to the character of Dr. Hill in this captivating video game!

I, David F. Sandberg, stepped up to direct the gripping horror game titled Until Dawn, penned by screenwriters Blair Butler and Gary Dauberman. Myself, Gary, Mia Maniscalco, Lotta Losen, Roy Lee, Asad Qizilbash, and Carter Swan were producers on this project. Charles Miller and Hermen Hulst served as executive producers.

Until Dawn opens in theaters on April 25, 2025.
