List of Marvel easter eggs and MCU references in Daredevil: Born Again trailer

As a devoted Daredevil enthusiast, I can’t help but feel my heart racing with anticipation after catching a glimpse of the Born Again trailer, brimming as it is with tantalizing easter eggs that have only served to heighten the excitement surrounding the show’s premiere.

Mayor Fisk in Time Square

The trailer highlights Mayor Wilson Fisk participating in the city’s New Year festivities, appearing on Times Square monitors. This scene mirrors events straight out of the comics, specifically issues 595 to 600 of Daredevil.

Rogers: The Musical

spectators additionally caught sight of an advertisement billboard for the fictional Broadway production, “Rogers: The Musical,” focusing on Steve Rogers, alias Captain America. This musical made its debut in Hawkeye and was subsequently featured in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and She-Hulk as well.

Harlem’s Paradise

Beyond my excitement about Rogers: The Musical, I can’t help but be drawn to the intriguing advertisement for a local hotspot known as Harlem’s Paradise. This legendary venue is none other than the brainchild of our very own neighborhood legend, Luke Cage – a true hero in every sense.

Pym van Dyne Foundation

In the trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, it’s revealed that the spectacular New Year celebrations are funded by the Pym van Dyne Foundation. This foundation was established when Hope van Dyne transformed Pym Technologies into it, with a focus on utilizing her father’s Pym Particles for charitable purposes.

Vanessa and Wilson Fisk’s bloody wall reunion

In the trailer, Wilson Fisk and Vanessa share a meal, while a chilling white portrait bearing splatters of blood looms in the background. This ominous scene, reminiscent of the Season 3 finale of Daredevil on Netflix, is where Matt Murdock brutally defeated Fisk. This connection to the original Marvel Cinematic Universe through the Netflix show is undeniably established.

Daredevil’s cowls and suits

In the trailer, both the cowls and suits catch viewers’ eyes. The golden/yellow cowl was featured in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law and the 1964 DAREDEVIL comic debut. The black cowl and its suit originate from the Shadowland: Daredevil comic series. The grey cowl on the left might be a tribute to the 2023 DAREDEVIL #6 issue where Matt sported a white suit, becoming the “purified Daredevil.” The classic red cowl comes from older shows and comics. The red cowl on the right is the one he wears in Born Again.
