The “Daredevil: Born Again” preview has stirred up conversations among fans, leaving them wondering if the series picks up where Netflix’s Daredevil left off or represents a fresh start. Familiar faces like Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk reappear, along with hints of new challenges. The trailer provides intriguing hints but keeps audiences on their toes.
The Born Again teaser offers a glimpse into its connections with the original show and potential storylines for Daredevil moving forward.
Is Daredevil: Born Again a reboot or a sequel of the Netflix series?
The Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again serves as a sequel to Netflix’s Daredevil.
After filming six episodes for a planned 18-episode remake, Marvel decided to alter the show’s direction. They brought in Dario Scardapane as the new showrunner, revising the creative team to better align with the tone and storytelling style of the original Netflix series. The revised script uses substantial amounts of the original footage along with fresh content.
Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio will once again take on their respective roles of Daredevil and Kingpin, picking up from where they left off in the Netflix series. Jon Bernthal is set to appear as Frank Castle (the Punisher) in the upcoming sequel, with his part potentially being expanded. Other returning cast members include Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Fisk, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen, Elden Henson as Foggy, and Wilson Bethel as Bullseye.
The show continues several years after Daredevil’s third season, with Matt transitioning from his vigilante life to a more legal approach to justice, as Wilson Fisk runs for mayor of New York City. This establishes the foundation for a confrontation between Murdock and Fisk, involving the return of characters like Bullseye (Dex), the Punisher, and new adversaries such as White Tiger and Muse.
This month, filming recommenced following substantial alterations to the production process. The latest trailer emphasizes the series’ connection to Netflix’s Daredevil and its solid placement within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Starting from March 4, 2025, Daredevil: Born Again will be available for streaming.
