Trailer for “The Riot on Redchurch Street – Director’s Cut”: This video previews the film’s narrative, which draws loosely from a contemporary version of Cabaret and unfolds in London leading up to the 2011 street riots in East London. The film focuses on the tale of a rock and roll manager and his involvement with a punk rock band leader and his girlfriend.
As a thrilled fan, I’m excited to share that my favorite movie, “Riot on Redchurch Street – The Director’s Cut,” will be available for digital viewing across all North American platforms like HD internet, cable, and satellite, as well as DVD, starting January 28, 2025! Freestyle Digital Media, who recently secured the North American VOD rights to this masterpiece, is making it happen. Can’t wait to rewatch it again!

Riot on Redchurch Street: Director’s Edition is helmed by Trevor Miller and boasts performances from Sam Hazeldine, Alysson Paradis, Jesse Birdsall, and Les McKeown. This film offers four unique songs, penned and produced by Siobhan Fahey, a renowned musician recognized for her work with Bananarama and Shakespear’s Sister.
The movie synopsis states that “Riot” is set in the diverse and turbulent Shoreditch neighborhood of London, just before the 2011 street riots. This gritty tale revolves around a powerful rock and roll manager who manipulates a young punk band leader and his girlfriend, a French singer, as they strive for success. As their tumultuous relationship unfolds, a concert in Shoreditch goes awry, leading to local thugs getting drunk and vandalizing a mosque, sparking the riot that culminates in violence, chaos, and ultimately, redemption. The film draws inspiration from Cabaret’s modern retelling and Christopher Isherwood’s novel “Goodbye to Berlin.
