The ending of “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” Episode 8 took an unexpected twist, revealing surprising facts about Jod Na Nawood’s history and At Attin’s destiny. A tense showdown and the collapse of the planet’s protective Barrier have left viewers curious about what lies ahead for the enigmatic pirate captain in future episodes.
Here’s what happened in the Skeleton Crew Episode 8 ending, Jod’s fate, and what’s next.
Here’s what happened in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Episode 8’s ending
In the concluding episode of Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, titled “The True Heroes,” we follow Jod Na Nawood’s last-ditch effort to seize control over the Republic Mint located on planet At Attin.
Following his deception of the inhabitants, making them think he was a “Jedi Ambassador”, character named Jod confronts the planet’s administrator, who turns out to be a robot overseeing “The Grand Project”. This revelation unmasks Jod as an imposter and labels the Jedi as betrayers after Order 66 was enforced.
Jod lashes out aggressively, wrecking the robot and crippling the security network of the planet. With pandemonium breaking loose, the youthful heroes – Wim, Fern, KB, and Neel – spring into action to safeguard their world. Their objective is to demolish the Barrier that encloses At Attin, seeking aid from the New Republic in the process.
After the power was back on, KB managed his exit from the planet’s atmosphere and reached out to Kh’ymm. In response, Kh’ymm dispatched X-Wing pilots. At the same time, Fern and Wim successfully deactivated the Barrier, enabling New Republic troops to move in and overpower Jod’s band of pirates.
Does Jod escape At Attin in Star Wars: Skeleton Crew Episode 8?
Jod doesn’t manage to flee At Attin. Following the collapse of his schemes, he only has the vantage point of the Supervisor’s Tower to witness New Republic starfighters annihilate his pirate vessel. In a nerve-wracking confrontation, the children subdue him, employing his lightsaber to prevent any further damage from being inflicted.
Despite surrendering, it’s uncertain what lies ahead for Jod. He isn’t depicted being apprehended and instead is left standing solitary, observing his schemes disintegrate. This ambiguous ending suggests the possibility of Jod reappearing in future Star Wars tales, potentially in a Skeleton Crew follow-up or a separate spinoff story.
The story concludes with Wim, Fern, KB, and Neel coming back together as the New Republic gains control over At Attin. Breaking down the barrier allows the planet to be accessible again to the wider galaxy, paving the way for fresh journeys and experiences.
