What is CATnip about?

On Christmas Eve, I find myself in the role of detective, alongside Jake Busey and Charlotte Kirk, as we delve into a peculiar case involving residents of an apartment building. An unusual assortment of individuals must unite to endure the chilling night, all while fending off a terrifying horde of rogue killer cats. This intriguing synopsis sets the stage for a thrilling tale that I can’t wait to see unfold!

I’m thrilled to be joining an impressive lineup, including Busey from The Predator and Starship Troopers, Kirk known for The Reckoning and The Lair, the talented Geoffrey Arend from 500 Days of Summer, Lorelei Linklater from American Trash, Brooke Bundy famed for A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master, Tiffany Helm recognized for Friday the 13th: A New Beginning, Kylee Levien starred in Roswell Delirium, Lord Kraven of S.W.A.T., and Christian Calloway from Destroy All Neighbors. What an amazing cast we’ve got here!

The movie is helmed by Nyle Cavazos Garcia, who first stepped into feature film direction in 2004 with a production named Clean. Notably, Cavazos Garcia also directed Dark Passenger: Volume 1 in 2015. Interestingly, he penned the script for CATnip and is producing it jointly with Rob Margolies and Keli Price.

A crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, which managed to collect more than $69,000, characterizes the movie known as CATnip as a “Gremlins-like film for adults.
