Oscars Nominations Announcement Date Delayed Again for 97th Academy Awards

The Oscars nominations announcement has been delayed again.

Originally, it was planned to announce the nominations for the 97th Academy Awards on Friday, January 17, 2025. But due to the wildfires in Los Angeles, the announcement has been postponed and is now scheduled for Sunday, January 19, 2025.

Now, per Deadline, the announcement date has been delayed again.

When is the new Oscars nominations announcement date?

The nominations will now be announced on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 5:30 a.m. PT/8:30 a.m. ET.

The deadline for the 97th Academy Awards voting, which was initially set to be January 14, has been pushed back and is now scheduled to end at 5 p.m. Pacific Time on Friday, January 17, 2024, as extended by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.

Furthermore, it’s been disclosed that the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has decided to push back the Scientific and Technical Awards ceremony, initially planned for February 18, 2025. As of now, a new date for the event remains undetermined.

The previously scheduled Oscar nominees lunch set for February 10, 2025, has been called off entirely. As a result, it won’t take place until next year instead.

The actual Oscar ceremony isn’t moving at this time and is still scheduled for March 2, 2025.
