Borderline Poster: Samara Weaving and Ray Nicholson Star in ‘Violently Romantic Comedy’

In the freshly unveiled poster for “Borderline”, Samara Weaving and Ray Nicholson join forces in this forthcoming movie that blends a chaotic romance with suspense, penned and helmed by Jimmy Warden, known for his work on the film “Cocaine Bear”. Here, one character yearns for love while the other strives to endure.

The movie “Borderline” comes from the talented minds behind films such as “Cocaine Bear”, “Barbie”, and “Promising Young Woman”. Notable actors including Eric Dane (“Euphoria”), Alba Baptista (“Warrior Nun”), and Jimmie Fails (“The Last Black Man in San Francisco”) are part of this production.

What is Borderline about?

1990s Los Angeles serves as the backdrop for the movie “Borderline,” where Weaving portrays a renowned pop star whose residence gets intruded by an ardent fan, played by Nicholson, who had just been released from a psychiatric institution with other inmates. This fanatic, a sociopath, fervently believes that he is destined to wed the celebrity, while the pop star resorts to all means necessary to ensure her survival. The upcoming film is labeled as a dark and twisted narrative.

In the pulsating 90’s LA, a bodyguard ensures the safety of a renowned pop star and her athletic lover, as they face an unyielding stalker. (This logline for Borderline, as reported by BloodyDisgusting.)

As a gamer, I’ve carved out quite a niche for myself in the chilling realm of horror entertainment, gracing both silver screens and television sets with my presence in titles like Bad Girl, Ash vs Evil Dead, Mayhem, the two Babysitter films, a quick cameo in Scream VI, and more recently, the pulse-pounding action horror flick Azrael. Yet, it’s my unforgettable role in Ready or Not, the thrilling horror comedy by Radio Silence, that has truly resonated with fans. Last year, exciting news hit the airwaves – I’ll be back for another round of chaos in the upcoming sequel to Ready or Not!

Outside the horror genre, her roles can be found in films like Monster Trucks, Guns Akimbo, Hollywood, Bill & Ted Face the Music, Snake Eyes, Babylon, and numerous others.

Meanwhile, Nicholson is also no less familiar with the genre. Lately, he appeared as Paul Hudson in Smile 2, a well-received sequel to Parker Finn’s 2022 supernatural horror movie. His other roles include Panic, Out of the Blue, Something from Tiffany’s, Gonzo Girl, and I Love You Forever.

No release date has been set yet for Borderline.
