Box Office Results: Den of Thieves 2 Scores, Better Man Doesn’t Find US Audience

Den of Thieves 2: Pantera has dethroned Mufasa: The Lion King at the domestic box office.

Over the weekend, Den of Thieves 2: Panthera, which premiered on Friday, claimed the top position at the U.S. box office. The movie, featuring O’Shea Jackson Jr. and Gerard Butler, raked in approximately $15.5 million.

According to the deadline, “Mufasa: The Lion King” earned an extra $13.2 million, placing it as the runner-up, and “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” took in $11 million, moving into third position.

Or, more casually: Over the deadline, “Mufasa: The Lion King” made an additional $13.2 million, coming in second, while “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” raked in $11 million and ended up in third place.

As a devoted fan, I must share my thoughts about two recent films that caught my attention: “The Last Showgirl,” featuring Pamela Anderson, and “Better Man,” the Robbie Williams biopic. While “The Last Showgirl” managed to secure the tenth spot in box office earnings with $1.53 million, it’s important to note that it was screened in approximately 870 theaters across the US. On the other hand, “Better Man” didn’t quite make it into the top ten during its debut week, earning a total of $1.1 million.

Box Office Results: Domestic Top 10

2). In 3,620 theaters, Mufasa made $2.9 million on its first day, which was a decrease of 62%. On Saturday, it earned $6.6 million, and on Sunday, it earned $3.7 million, totaling $13.2 million over the weekend, marking a 44% drop from its previous week. To date, Mufasa has grossed $188.7 million.

3). In its fourth week, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (Par) was shown in approximately 3,582 theaters, with earnings of $2.18 million on Friday (-68%) and a jump to $5.4 million on Saturday, followed by $3.3 million on Sunday, resulting in a total of $11 million for the weekend (-48%). So far, the movie has made a total of $204.5 million.

4). Movie Title (Code): Nosferatu, opened in 3,082 theaters on Friday, earning $1.95M (-55%) on Saturday and $1.8M on Sunday, totaling a 3-day gross of $6.8M (-48%). The film’s total earnings now stand at $81.8M after three weeks.

To date, it has grossed an impressive $434.8 million after seven weeks in the box office.

The movie “Wicked” was screened in approximately 2,967 theaters on its release, with Friday earnings of $1.16 million (a decrease of 65%), followed by Saturday earnings of $2.37 million and Sunday earnings of $1.47 million, resulting in a 3-day total of $5 million (a drop of 50%). The film’s cumulative earnings now stand at $458.9 million after eight weeks.

7). An Unfamiliar Face at the Sea (Cinema)

– The film, titled “A Complete Unknown,” was screened in 2,815 theaters, with a Friday box office collection of $1.36 million, marking a decrease of 49%.
– On Saturday, the earnings increased to $2.3 million, but on Sunday they dipped to $1.3 million, resulting in a total 3-day collection of $5 million, representing a 38% drop.
– To date, the film has accumulated a total of $50.8 million after three weeks of release.

8). In 1,887 theaters (previously 2,164), the movie titled “Babygirl” from A24 earned $865,400 on its first day (-277 compared to the previous day) and saw a slight increase in revenue on Saturday with $1.29 million. However, it showed a decrease in earnings on Sunday with $934,000, resulting in a total of $3.09 million over the weekend (-31% compared to the previous weekend). To date, the movie has grossed a total of $21.7 million after three weeks in release.
