Den of Thieves 2: Pantera Director Says Part 3 Is ‘Ready to Go’

After the success of “Den of Thieves 2: Pantera” at international box offices, director Christian Gudegast has confirmed plans for a third installment in the series. The second movie, which hit theaters on January 10, 2025, is a sequel that follows nearly seven years after its predecessor’s release. “Pantera” unfolds two years after the events of the first film and focuses on Gerard Butler’s character Big Nick as he works to stop Donnie Wilson’s criminal activities in Europe. As the series gains popularity among audiences, Gudegast has promised that production for Den of Thieves 3 is already set to begin.

In a recent conversation, the certified movie director Christian Gudegast revealed that he has already proposed ideas for a follow-up to Den of Thieves titled “Den of Thieves 2: Pantera.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Gudegast was asked about the audience’s enthusiasm for trilogies and whether he has plans for Den of Thieves 3. Gudegast responded by saying, “The idea is already pitched and ready to go. We’re all set.” When the interviewer jokingly suggested they should “knock on wood” for good luck, Gudegast replied, “We feel very confident about it. But sure, knock on wood if you like. It can’t hurt.

The first movie in the series debuted in cinemas back in 2018, despite encountering multiple production challenges. Surprisingly, Den of Thieves managed to rake in over $80 million worldwide on a budget of just $30 million. It was following its online release that the franchise started gaining noticeable attention and significantly sped up the launch of Pantera.

Although Gudegast’s remarks offer a positive glimpse into the upcoming Den of Thieves 2 sequel, it hasn’t been given an official launch date as of now. In the interim, enthusiasts can enjoy Den of Thieves 2: Panthera, which is currently screening in movie theaters.
