Quickly dismissing the speculation, she clarified that she and her previous co-star have always been close friends instead. Michalka went on to explain to Cooper that their relationship had always been a friendship. She emphasized their three-year age gap, mentioning that it seemed significant. At the time, she believed he was sixteen while she was only thirteen – a difference that felt substantial given their ages.
Nevertheless, the actress admitted to having a fleeting attraction towards Ullman at that moment. She explained, “During the audition for Phil of the Future, when I discovered he was one of the other contenders, I couldn’t help but think, ‘He’s quite charming.’ And then, once we actually met, our bond deepened and we became close friends.
During the production of Phil of the Future, many viewers speculated that Ullman and Michalka were romantically involved. A gossip circulating at the time claimed they had been together for roughly six years prior to their split in 2011.
Contrarily to the speculations, Aly Michalka has clarified her marital status. She is married to cinematographer Stephen Ringer and they share a son. Meanwhile, in 2023, Raviv Ullman exchanged vows with animator and voice actress Julia Pott.
