As a gamer, I’m absolutely pumped about the announcement of this project, especially since it falls in such a significant year – the 50th anniversary of My Melody and the 20th anniversary of Kuromi! Director Tomoki Misato shared this news in a press release, expressing his excitement. This monumental project has inspired us all to collaborate, tackle numerous challenges, and experiment with stop-motion animation like never before. I can’t wait for everyone to experience the captivating storyline set within our meticulously crafted Mariland, the heart-pounding action that tests the boundaries of stop-motion animation, and, needless to say, the adorable and lively characters!

The show is created by Toruku, representing the initial stop-motion animated series produced by a division of WIT Studio that was formed within it.

What is My Melody & Kuromi about?

In the charming land of Mariland, the series will unfold around a simple and jovial girl named My Melody, who cherishes her younger sibling dearly. Accompanying her will be Kuromi, self-styled as a mischief maker. These characters are beloved by Sanrio enthusiasts, with Kuromi placing among the top three in the 2024 Sanrio character poll.

The animated series “My Melody & Kuromi” is helmed by director Tomoki Misato, with a screenplay penned by Shuko Nemoto.
