Attempting to dissuade Cruz’s brother from abandoning his dangerous lifestyle, Flaco found himself in a predicament: left abandoned in a fiery building by Cruz.
In the final episode of the fall season, Cruz encounters Junior Polanco, who is Flaco’s cousin and a witness to the firefighter’s previous misconduct. Now, Junior aims to coerce Cruz into participating in an illegal act due to his past actions. Since the event involving Flaco, many things have shifted. Cruz now has a family, and Junior uses this as leverage to compel Cruz’s cooperation.
Cruz learns that Junior has asked the Fire Investigation Office to reexamine his cousin’s death. After being persuaded to assist Junior in retrieving money he had stashed before incarceration, Cruz dresses the other man in firefighter attire. However, Cruz momentarily resists his coercer, which leads Junior to pull out a gun and threaten him.
In a location believed to contain hidden funds, Junior and Cruz venture, encountering individuals who used to be associated with Junior. A shootout ensues, resulting in Cruz sustaining a wound in his arm. Despite this, he swiftly escapes by car, leaving various signs of his presence behind. The scene concludes, leaving the situation for Cruz seeming quite grim.
