The eagerly awaited film by Suriya and director Karthik Subbaraj, titled Retro, has left viewers spellbound following the latest teaser. Now, they have unveiled both the movie’s release date and an eye-catching new poster for all to see.
Recently, the director of the film himself revealed on social media that the romantic action movie will be released on May 1, 2025. Accompanying this announcement was a fresh poster and Karthik’s caption, “The One for May First!! #Retro.

2D Entertainment, headed by Suriya himself, finances this upcoming movie that blends romance and action. In this film, Pooja Hegde makes a fresh appearance in a new role, which is her first time working alongside Suriya.
Last Christmas, a tantalizing sneak peek was unveiled, showcasing a thrilling sequence of events unfolding amidst a delightfully retro atmosphere – and I, for one, can hardly wait to see more!

In addition to Suriya and Pooja, the movie features notable actors such as Jayaram, Joju George, Karunakaran, Nassar, Prakash Raj, Sujith Shankar, Prem Kumar, and several others in significant roles. The music for this film is created by Santhosh Narayanan.
From now on, after his previous appearance, Suriya starred as the main character in the film titled Kanguva. This eagerly awaited blend of fantasy and action follows the tale of a tribal warrior. In a remarkable twist, he makes a vow to his adopted son, an oath that is fulfilled when they are reborn centuries later.
In this film, Bobby Deol took on the role of the primary villain, while Disha Patani starred as the female protagonist. Despite generating significant buzz upon its release, the movie fell short in fulfilling both the public’s and critics’ anticipations, ultimately underperforming.
Additionally, it’s worth noting that Suriya is at present working on a movie provisionally named Suriya45, under the guidance of director RJ Balaji.
