Vidaamuyarchi director Magizh Thirumeni recalls Ajith Kumar wanting to make film ‘out of his comfort zone’; reveals decision to avoid illogical scenes

Recently, there’s been a lot of chatter about the upcoming film “Vidaamuyarchi,” starring Ajith Kumar and Trisha Krishnan. As we approach its release date, director Magizh Thirumeni has shared insights into his initial meeting with Ajith for the project.

In a conversation with The New Indian Express, the director shared that Ajith Kumar expressed a desire to create a movie that would challenge both of them beyond their usual boundaries. The director of Thadam explained, “When Ajith sir and I first met, he suggested, ‘Let’s make a film that pushes us beyond our accustomed realms.’

In his speech, the director further explained that he prefers not to assume the audience’s intelligence by incorporating nonsensical moments into the movie. He emphasized that it’s unfortunate that logic has become a flexible aspect when creating Indian films.

Magizh pointed out, “It’s astonishing how logic in a film is still debated. In most industries globally, logic is essential, and a movie lacking it would be met with ridicule. This principle is the basis for keeping our film understated.” Emphasizing this, the director firmly maintained that the film was a straightforward, scenario-based action thriller, devoid of any contrived melodramatic scenes.

Moving on, I was looking forward to catching Ajith Kumar’s movie Vidaamuyarchi during Pongal this year. Unfortunately, due to some unspecified reasons, its release has been pushed back. Trade analysts are suggesting that we might get to watch it in theaters by the end of this month.

The fast-paced, suspenseful film is rumored to be based on the hit Hollywood movie Breakdown, which tells the story of a man determined to save his abducted wife. In this version, Trisha takes on the role of the main female character, while Arjun Sarja and Regina Cassandra play significant roles as well.
