As a long-time Destiny 2 player, I can’t help but feel a renewed sense of optimism as we kick off 2025. After a rather rocky year in 2024, it’s heartening to see that Bungie is finally listening to the community and making changes that we’ve been asking for.
I remember back in the day when the game first launched, I was one of those players who spent countless hours exploring the cosmos, raiding with friends, and grinding for gear. But as time went on, the game seemed to lose its luster. The content droughts, the lackluster updates, the repetitive grind – it all took a toll on the community.
But now, with the start of Revenant Act 3, Bungie’s sudden change of the GM and featured weapon, and the upcoming patch with buffs and nerfs, I’m feeling a glimmer of hope for Destiny 2 once again. It’s not lost on me that this good news has come about through an error, but hey, a win is a win!
I’ve been playing since the beginning, so I remember the days when a GM change and a new featured weapon was something to look forward to. And now, it feels like those days are coming back. The community is excited, the player count might even rise again, and for the first time in a while, I’m looking forward to what’s next in Destiny 2.
And as a little joke, I can’t help but think that Bungie must be trying to pull in some players with this change – because if they keep it up, I might just convince my friends who stopped playing to come back!
2024 wasn’t a smooth year for Destiny 2. For significant parts of it, fans weren’t happy with the game’s status, which led to numerous concerns not only about Destiny 2’s future but also Bungie’s. However, there is now some positive news that Destiny 2 players are celebrating as a “massive win”. Despite the community’s lingering pessimism about Bungie reviving the game, this latest update has brought about some optimism.
As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I am genuinely excited about the events lined up for D2 in January as per the 2025 roadmap. The start of Revenant Act 3 promises an engaging and immersive gaming experience that I’ve come to expect from this franchise. Following Act 3, a patch delivering significant balance adjustments through buffs and nerfs will no doubt keep the game fresh and challenging.
Additionally, Bungie’s annual Game2Give charity fundraiser is always a heartwarming event that brings together gamers and philanthropists from around the world. This year, I’ve heard rumors of a stylish cel-shader for the occasion – it will undoubtedly be a sight to behold!
Overall, as someone who values both the gameplay and the charitable aspects of gaming, I can’t wait to dive into what January has in store for Destiny 2.
2021 officially kicks off with Act 3 of The Revenant on January 7th, however, in the meantime, enthusiasts of Destiny 2 can look forward to some positive updates.
Destiny 2 players praise Bungie announcement
Through their official BungieHelp account on platform X, developers have unexpectedly altered Destiny 2’s Nightfall activity for this week. Originally named “Liminality,” the issue causing Guitar errors led them to rename it to “Birthplace of the Vile.
Apart from modifying the game master (GM), Bungie also replaced the highlighted weapon with the Rake Angle Glaive.
As a passionate player, I must admit it’s disheartening to start the new year with another hiccup, but my fellow gamers aren’t letting it dampen our spirits. The overwhelming response on platform X is celebratory, referring to the announcement as a “massive win”! One of the key reasons for this jubilation is the preference for the Glaive over the Shadow Price auto weapon that was initially planned. It seems we, as players, are thrilled about this change.
As a long-time fan of Bungie and their games, I can’t help but share my excitement over the recent change they made. One comment on Reddit that particularly caught my eye summed it up perfectly: “This new GM (Grasp of Avarice) is the easiest one in rotation right now, offering the most coveted weapon, and it even has double drops!”
Being a seasoned Destiny 2 player, I can attest to the difficulty of some of the other Grandmasters and the elation that comes from finally completing one. However, this new activity seems to strike the perfect balance between challenge and reward. Not only is it easier to navigate, but the weapon drops are truly enticing. It’s a breath of fresh air in the Destiny 2 community, and I can’t wait to see what else Bungie has in store for us!
One comment suggests it’s “Additionally, this is the most convenient method for accumulating Scorn kills during the seasonal tasks,” while another response indicates Bungie “modified it into the simplest Nightfall (NF) of the season for the new NF weapon that players are eager to obtain. This includes a unique modifier and double rewards. It seems they’re making a significant effort to attract more players, boosting active users.
As a long-time fan of Destiny 2, I can’t help but notice that many within our community are well aware that this recent good news was only brought about by an error. However, I must admit, I am pleased with the switch, as it has reignited my excitement for the game. It’s no secret that at the end of 2024, Destiny 2 reached dangerously low player counts, with many sounding alarms and warning signs that the game was on its last legs. But now, I find myself hopeful that this change will bring new life to the game and raise active player numbers once again.
