As a dedicated fan of Western films and Kevin Costner’s exceptional acting, I can’t help but feel both elated and perplexed at the sudden availability of “Horizon: An American Saga” Chapter 1 on Netflix. Growing up in the golden age of VHS tapes, I fondly remember renting Costner’s iconic Western films like “Dances with Wolves” and “Open Range,” which have left an indelible mark on my cinematic taste buds.

The news about the film’s release feels like a personal Christmas come early! Yet, being well-versed in the industry, I can’t help but wonder why it was initially slated for Max exclusive and now found its way to Netflix. Regardless of the behind-the-scenes drama, I’m just grateful that I can now binge on this epic tale without having to wait for DVD releases or scouring the wilds of torrent sites!

I’m not sure how I’ll manage it, but I plan on completing Chapter 3 first, followed by Chapter 4. If you’d like to mark that as the end, then that will be the end.

As of now, specific plot points are being kept secret; however, Deadline hints that this epic will involve Kevin Costner facing off against harsh natural environments and engaging with Native American communities impacted by the westward expansion of the United States.
