As a die-hard fan of Will Ferrell since his days on Saturday Night Live, I can confidently say that seeing him reprise his role as Buddy the Elf at an NHL game was pure joy! It’s been over a decade since we last saw Buddy in Elf, and it’s always a treat to see our favorite Christmas character come back to life.

I have fond memories of watching Elf every holiday season, and seeing Will Ferrell’s Buddy the Elf bring laughter and cheer to millions was truly magical. So, imagine my excitement when I saw him in the stands at the Crypto.com Arena, drinking and smoking as only Buddy can do!

I have to admit, it was a bit strange seeing Buddy looking less than jolly, but let’s face it – even Santa Claus has his off days. And with Will Ferrell being an avid L.A. Kings fan, I couldn’t help but think that Buddy was just as disappointed as I was when the team fell behind. But as always, Buddy managed to bring a little magic to the ice and help the Kings pull out a win against the Flyers!

I can’t wait for Will Ferrell’s upcoming film projects in 2025, especially Street Justice where he plays a vigilante distributing his own brand of justice. I mean, who wouldn’t want to see Buddy the Elf take on the bad guys with his signature charm and wit?

To end on a light-hearted note, I can only imagine what it would be like if Buddy the Elf went to Men’s Fashion Week for the upcoming Gus Van Sant movie Prince of Fashion. Picture Buddy strutting down the runway in a pair of skinny jeans and a reindeer sweater – now that’s something I’d pay good money to see!

As a devoted fan, I can’t help but reminisce about the unforgettable time when Will Ferrell brought the beloved character of Buddy from the North Pole’s magical world to bustling New York City in search of his father. With an Elf sequel yet to be announced, it’s only natural for us fans to ponder how Buddy is faring in this modern era. Recently, our beloved Saturday Night Live alum provided a side-splitting snapshot at an NHL game, where he was spotted among the crowd, donning his Buddy the Elf costume, enjoying some refreshments and partaking in a little merriment.

As a die-hard fan, I’d say this year has given us a twist on Buddy’s usual North Pole visit. Instead of the jolly elf we know and love, Will Ferrell as Buddy the Elf appeared at the L.A. Kings game against the Philadelphia Flyers looking less than festive. Dressed in his iconic costume, he was spotted in the crowd, seemingly downcast while puffing on a cigarette and sipping a drink at the Crypto.com Arena. It’s not surprising that with Will Ferrell being a passionate supporter of the L.A. Kings, he looked a bit displeased if his beloved hockey team was trailing. However, the enchantment of Buddy (apparently a reference to one of Ferrell’s characters) seemed to work its charm on the ice, as the Kings managed to overcome the Flyers in the end.

Will Ferrell’s 2025 film projects

For the coming year, fans of Will Ferrell have numerous movie projects to eagerly anticipate. In the romantic comedy “You’re Cordially Invited,” he will be competing with Reese Witherspoon for the most memorable wedding. The two hilarious actors will try to share the same wedding venue, which you can catch on Amazon Prime Video starting January 30th.

At present, the films Street Justice and Prince of Fashion are in developmental stages. Street Justice stars Will Ferrell as an unconventional vigilante who enforces his own unique form of justice. Meanwhile, Gus Van Sant’s upcoming project, titled Prince of Fashion, follows a father-son duo attending Men’s Fashion Week.
