As a seasoned gamer with decades of FPS experience under my belt, I have to say that the anticipation for Valorant Mobile has been a rollercoaster ride! The news of its development initially sent shivers of excitement down my spine, but the delays and setbacks along the way have left me feeling like a jaded veteran.
The rumored release date in 2025 feels like an eternity to me, especially considering how quickly technology advances these days. I can’t help but think that by then, I might be playing Valorant Mobile on my smart glasses or whatever the next big thing will be!
However, the leaks about cross-progression and cross-play have definitely piqued my interest. Imagine being able to jump into a game with my friends, regardless of whether they’re on PC or mobile? That would be a dream come true!
But let me tell you something that really tickles me – if Valorant Mobile finally releases in 2025 and I’m still gaming strong, it means I’ve been playing FPS games for six decades! Now, that’s what I call dedication. Or perhaps just a sign that I should slow down on the caffeine!
Joke: You know you’re old when you remember when mobile games meant Snake and Tetris, not Valorant!
2021 saw Riot reveal plans to create a mobile adaptation of their widely acclaimed tactical first-person shooter, Valorant. Dubbed Valorant Mobile, this new version has ignited enthusiasm among gamers worldwide.
The game is generating a lot of excitement and could herald a new phase for mobile gaming as soon as it hits the market.
Regrettably, the mobile version of Valorant has encountered a series of uncertainties due to various hurdles during its development process. Its launch date seems to be at risk, yet optimism remains as it may still appear on app store shelves.
When Will Valorant Mobile Be Released?
Riot has not given an official release date, but Valorant Mobile is rumored to be released in 2025.
The initial release date for the game might have been sooner, but there were some obstacles encountered during its progression. Notably, it was disclosed that Riot Games restarted the project entirely after Tencent Games took over. Furthermore, Anna Donlon, who leads the development team of Valorant, previously acknowledged that the development of Valorant Mobile was moving at a slower pace than initially anticipated.
Additionally, it’s important to note that at the beginning of 2024, Riot Games announced a significant round of layoffs, affecting around 530 employees. This has sparked concern within the community, leading some to speculate whether the development of Valorant Mobile might have been paused or slowed down.
It might take a while for this game to move through its stages – closed beta, soft launch, and final release – as both elements seem to suggest a delayed timeline.
Leaks Suggest Cross-Progression And Other Features
In simpler terms, “Valorant Mobile” is a mobile version of the popular game “Valorant”. Players will find a similar gaming experience, featuring the same characters (Agents), maps, and exciting 5v5 combat that the original game offers.
Rumors indicate that the mobile version of Valorant, possibly named Valorant Mobile, may offer cross-platform progression. This means that players can continue their Battle Pass advancement, Agent acquisitions, skin collections, and other accrued items on both the mobile and PC versions of the game.
It’s said that the option for Cross-play might be introduced, allowing game lobbies to accommodate both desktop (PC) and mobile device users.
In August 2023, a beta testing phase for “Project C”, which is the Chinese adaptation of Valorant Mobile, took place in China. Despite being developed by Tencent Games instead of Riot, it provided an initial sneak peek for numerous players regarding what the game might be like.
During the trials of Project C version Beta, we had fourteen participants, a quick purchasing option for a suggested equipment set, and a gameplay regulation stating that the team which first wins eight rounds would be declared the winner of the match.
