As a long-time fan of Justin Baldoni, I must admit that this recent turn of events has left me rather puzzled and disheartened. It seems like the man who brought us heartwarming roles in shows like Jane the Virgin and Blue Bloods is embroiled in some serious allegations, from both a former publicist and Blake Lively.
As I’m knee-deep in my latest gaming quest, news about me hits the headlines once again. This time, it’s a legal spat with my old publicist, who claims I broke our agreement earlier this year – all while Blake Lively’s voice echoes in the background, adding another layer to the mix.
What is Justin Baldoni being sued for?
Steph Jones, proprietor of the public relations company Jonesworks, claimed that Baldoni violated their contract this year. The agreement, under which Baldoni was supposed to pay her $25,000 per month, was said to have been breached when Baldoni parted ways with the firm in August and subsequently teamed up with a firm founded by Jennifer Abel, who had also worked at Jonesworks before setting out on her own.
In addition to the legal action taken against Baldoni, Jones is also filing a suit against Abel and Baldoni’s publicist Melissa Nathan. This move aligns with Blake Lively’s accusations, claiming that the duo orchestrated a defamatory campaign against the actress. Jones’ lawsuit asserts that they are trying to shift blame towards her for this campaign.
Even today, Abel and Nathan persistently accuse Jones as they are exposed for their wrongdoings, while simultaneously tarnishing and assaulting his reputation within the industry, according to the lawsuit. (Credit: Variety)
Last week, I found myself in a tough situation with my co-worker, Baldoni. I had to take a stand and file a complaint against him due to some inappropriate behavior. According to my allegations, things on set became unbearable to the point where an urgent meeting was convened because of my concerns about a toxic work environment.
The complaint further states that Wayfarer Studios had agreed with the cast, including Blake Lively, to emphasize her character’s strength and resilience when promoting the movie, rather than labeling it as a tale about domestic violence. However, Lively alleges that Jensen Averlino Baldoni, during interviews, focused on the film’s grave narrative instead.
In the filing made by Lively, it is stated that Baldoni and his public relations manager, Melissa Nathan, reportedly brainstormed strategies for launching a social media attack aimed at damaging Lively’s reputation. The evidence presented by Lively spans across 22 pages of text exchanges between Baldoni’s representative and Nathan, where they appear to have expressed a desire to see Lively “discredited.
