What is Left at Wall about?
Based on the Robin Hood/Gamestop event from January 2021, ‘Left at Wall’ narrates a tale of a failed short selling venture resulting in a bitter family dispute. The plot revolves around John Saber, a writer grappling with his financially successful brother Don who is an investor on Wall Street. Upon discovering Don’s latest short sell scheme, John decides to take action online and challenge his brother, as well as the powerful Wall Street system.
The film features Placone playing the role of John Saber, Gareth Reynolds in the part of Don Saber, Kimberly Hill portraying Sarah, Sara Kay Godot as Tiffany, Sally Mullins as a character named Pornstar, Eddie Pepitone acting as Harry, Graham Elwood taking on the role of Dax, Dave Anthony playing Trevor, and Sage Francis appearing in the movie as himself.
In an announcement, Placone shared, “The GameStop incident sparked my film idea, and I was determined to bring it to life. Although our tale is purely fictional, it references this event. I couldn’t be more content with all aspects, from the cast and crew to the soundtrack and everything in between. I aimed to create a peculiar indie comedy that critiques the Wall Street system, and that’s exactly what we accomplished. It’s as if High Fidelity and The Big Short combined their talents, and then this offspring joined a labor union.
The film is executive produced by David K. Fried, Carissa Mohr, and Donald W. Mohr.
On January 24, 2025, you’ll have the chance to buy or rent ‘Left at Wall’ on various digital HD platforms across North America, including internet, cable, and satellite services. Additionally, physical DVD copies will also be available for purchase on the same date.
